
Jordan Daily – The family of the late Dr. Ghazi Farid Musharbash, former Member of Parliament, held a memorial ceremony in his honor at the Royal Cultural Center, attended by officials, cultural, religious and social figures, alongside his extended family, friends and admirers.
The tribute moderated by lawyer Dr. Haytham Ereifej, commemorated Dr. Musharbash’s distinguished national and humanitarian accomplishments. He was widely recognized for his dedication to public service, his advocacy for justice and equal citizenship, and his active role in promoting Christian- Muslim interfaith dialogue and shared living, which he consistently championed as a foundation for social cohesion in Jordan.

Speakers recalled his principled positions and lasting influence, emphasizing the values of respect, coexistence, and national unity that defined his work.
During the event, former Member of Parliament Kais Zayadin announced the launch of the Ghazi Musharbash Initiative, named in his honor, which seeks to advance equality in Christian inheritance law in Jordan. The initiative builds on Musharbash’s long-standing advocacy for inclusive legal reform and aims to foster dialogue among legal experts, church leaders, civil society, and policymakers.

The tribute and initiative underscored a collective commitment to preserving Musharbash’s legacy of justice, interfaith harmony, and shared citizenship.

Born in Amman in 1943, his early hardships shaped a journey defined by academic excellence, social responsibility, and national commitment.
Dr. Musharbash played a pioneering role in developing Jordan’s national industries and was widely respected for his ethical leadership and community-centered approach.

He was a prominent figure in church and interfaith institutions regionally and globally; internationally, he served on the Executive Council of the Anglican Episcopal Churches as the first Arab to hold this position, representing Jordan with wisdom and integrity, and coordinated the Islamic–Christian dialogue committee at the global level.

As a former Member of Parliament, he was known for principled advocacy, environmental engagement, and steadfast support for justice and Palestinian rights.
The tribute concluded with the launch of the Ghazi Musharbash Initiative for Christian Heritage, affirming the continuation of his values and vision.
