Jordan Daily – The Jordanian Armed Forces on Tuesday intercepted a drone attempting to smuggle narcotics into the country along its southern border, according to a statement from the military’s General Command.
The incident occurred on the western front of the Southern Military Zone, where vigilant monitoring systems detected the unmanned aircraft. Upon identifying the threat, military personnel engaged the drone, forcing it to retreat. A subsequent search of the area revealed a cache of drugs, which was promptly confiscated and turned over to the appropriate authorities.
The Jordanian military underscored its ongoing commitment to safeguarding the country’s borders, vowing to deploy all necessary measures to prevent illegal crossings and smuggling operations in order to preserve the security and stability of the Kingdom.
