Jordan Daily – Minister of Investment Tareq Abu Ghazaleh met on Tuesday with the Netherlands’ Ambassador to Jordan, Stella Kloth, to discuss strengthening economic and investment cooperation between the two countries in line with King Abdullah’s directives to expand international partnerships, the Ministry said.

Abu Ghazaleh highlighted the importance of the existing economic partnership, noting efforts to enhance investment cooperation in priority sectors under Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision, including sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, food industries, and tourism.

He said Dutch investments in Jordan reached around $1.2 billion by 2023, across some 80 companies operating in electricity, gas, construction, and manufacturing, with capital estimated at $556 million. The ministry, he added, aims to attract more Dutch investors through incentives and the new investment law.

Ambassador Kloth praised Jordan’s efforts to improve the business environment and expressed the Netherlands’ interest in expanding cooperation, particularly in modern agriculture, water management, industrial innovation, and clean energy.

Both sides agreed to strengthen coordination between relevant institutions and activate existing agreements, including the bilateral investment protection deal and the EU partnership agreement, to boost trade and mutual investment.
