Jordan Daily – Social Development Minister Wafa Bani Mustafa said the government is prioritising economic and social empowerment programmes for National Aid Fund (NAF) beneficiaries, under royal directives, to go beyond financial support and include professional, psychological and social assistance.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony for 32 women who completed a technical machine embroidery course run by the NAF in partnership with the Garment Design & Training Services Center (GSC), Bani Mustafa said the training aims to help women start small businesses and income-generating projects, boosting their economic standing and community roles.

The course is one of seven held across Jordan, benefiting over 215 participants. The minister urged graduates to continue developing their skills and shift “from reliance to production, from waiting to initiative.”

GSC Chairman Ihab Qadri highlighted the partnership with the NAF and described the programme as among the most advanced in machine embroidery techniques.

NAF Director General Khetam Shneikat said the fund has adopted targeted economic empowerment programmes to enable beneficiaries to join the labour market and set up productive projects.

The Garment Design & Training Services Center (GSC), established with direct support from the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation, provides specialised technical assistance and fashion training courses, drawing on both local and international expertise.
