Minister says 2026 to mark turning point in Jordan-U.S. trade

Jordan Daily – Jordan’s trade ties with the United States will enter a “turning point” in 2026, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah said on Sunday.

Speaking at the American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan’s annual event on behalf of the prime minister, Qudah said trade relations would see a strong boost in both Jordanian exports to and imports from the U.S.

He highlighted the importance of economic cooperation and the role of the private sector in driving sustainable growth and investment.

Qudah said Jordan’s exports to the U.S. reached $3 billion last year, up from $60 million before the free trade agreement, while imports stood at $400 million before the agreement. Imports rose to 1.252 billion dinars in the first nine months of 2025, from 945 million dinars a year earlier.
