Jordan Daily – Dr. Nizar Haddad, the Director General of National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) received Balasubramanian (Balu) Iyer is the Regional Director for the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) in Asia and the Pacific.
Haddad stated that the cooperative arm is a successful partner for all research work, as agricultural cooperatives in Jordan contribute to the introduction of modern technology in cooperation with the National Agricultural Research Center.
He added that the International Cooperative Alliance is the supreme organization for cooperatives worldwide, working to develop the model of the social cooperative enterprise and providing a global voice and forum for cooperatives.
Mr Iyer appreciated the leading role of NARC in developing scientific research and transferring modern technology, in addition to its prominent role in providing basic seeds to farmers in cooperation with the Jordan Cooperative Corporation.
He also pointed out the efforts of NARC in employing innovation in the agricultural sector through the center’s agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship incubator, which works to translate pioneering ideas and turn them into real projects on the ground.
