Netherlands, Germany top Jordan’s trade list with EU in Q1 2024

Jordan Daily – Jordan’s trade deficit with the European Union (EU) countries has narrowed in the first quarter of this year, reaching about 555 million dinars, compared to approximately 635 million for the same period last year, according to official statistics.

The value of Jordan’s exports to EU countries in the first quarter of this year amounted to JD 83 million , compared to 84 million for the same period last year, a decrease of 1.2 percent.

On the other hand, the value of the kingdom’s imports from EU countries during the first quarter of this year decreased to JD 638 million , compared to JD 719 million for the same period last year, a decrease of 11.3 percent.

Trade exchanges between Jordan and EU countries during the first quarter of this year reached JD 721 million , compared to 803 million dinars for the same period last year.

The Netherlands topped the list of European countries in terms of Jordanian exports to the EU during the first quarter of this year, reaching 19 million dinars, compared to 18 million for the same period last year.

Germany topped the list of countries from which Jordan imports, with the value of the kingdom’s imports amounting to approximately JD147 million , compared to 160 million for the same period last year, a decrease of 8.1 percent.
