Jordan Daily – The newly formed party “Azm” held a consultative meeting in the city of Aqaba , attended by members of the Senate, local officials, engineers, tribal leaders, and civil society and youth representatives.
The party’s founder, engineer Zaid Naffa, said he is proud of Aqaba’s role in supporting the national economy and enhancing the investment and productive environment, and of its people’s participation in politics and party work.
He said he came back to Aqaba after two decades as a man of tourism and economy, and now as a politician and party leader, carrying a reformist program that covers all political, economic, social, investment and cultural files.
He added the party aims to achieve comprehensive and sustainable national development through a series of programs and plans that will be a roadmap for future development, based on honesty, disclosure, transparency, dialogue, integration and effective participation.
Naffa reviewed the party’s political, economic and social vision, which is based on the need to define the economic identity of Jordan, based on a comprehensive diagnosis of the Jordanian economy, including natural and mineral resources.
He said the party’s vision is to focus on tourism, agriculture, light and medium industries, small and medium productive projects, mining and logistics services, which will contribute to liberating the economy and improving the living standards of the citizens.
He noted the party also seeks to enhance and strengthen local and foreign investments, and to achieve employment and training goals, within the efforts to combat poverty and unemployment.
He said the party also values the role of the Jordanian youth and women, as partners in the march of construction, development and reform.
He praised the city of Aqaba as a developmental, investment and economic area, with multiple economic and investment activities, which is characterized by customs exemptions and reduced and fixed taxes.
Naffa said the party’s vision includes marketing and promoting Aqaba regionally and globally, to provide more development projects and job opportunities for the Jordanian youth.
The meeting included a comprehensive dialogue and discussion on various political, economic and social aspects, where the attendees expressed their admiration and conviction with the party’s proposals and ideas, which they described as realistic, comprehensive and different from what was presented by others.
