Jordan Daily – USAID Mission Director in Jordan, Leslie Reed, visited Um-Al Hashim Basic Mixed School and Al-Haditha Secondary School for Girls. These schools were constructed as part of the USAID Schools for Knowledge Economy Project.

“Education is the key to unlocking a brighter future for every child,” Reed stated in a video posted on the X platform. “That is why USAID partnered with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing to increase students’ access to inclusive, environmentally friendly, and student-centered learning environments.”

The project resulted in the construction and furnishing of 25 new schools across Jordan. This year, once completed , these schools are expected to serve 22,000 students annually, providing state-of-the-art classrooms, and fully equipped science, computer, and vocational labs.

Reed highlighted the broader community benefits, noting that “the local community and neighboring schools will have access to the available facilities and resources.” She also emphasized the project’s commitment to inclusive education, offering services for students with special learning needs and physical disabilities.

“We’re proud to partner with the Government of Jordan to make sure schools are equipped with everything that students need to succeed,” Reed added.
