Jordan Daily -Three Middle Eastern airports showed gains in OAG’s annual “Megahubs” ranking of the world’s most connected airports, while London Heathrow retained its top position for a third consecutive year.
OAG, the world’s leading data platform for the global travel industry, today released Megahubs 2025. In its tenth anniversary year, Megahubs provides the definitive ranking of the world’s most connected airports by analyzing destinations served and scheduled connections at each.
Dubai (DXB) climbed one spot to 15th, with Emirates operating 38% of flights. Riyadh (RUH) surged from 42nd to 31st, led by Saudia’s 41% share of services. Doha (DOH) moved up two places to 34th, OAG said in a statement received by Jordan Daily.
Istanbul jumped from eighth to second place after a 25% increase in potential connections, with Turkish Airlines operating 79% of flights.
Heathrow, which also topped the inaugural Megahubs list in 2015, has increased the number of international destinations served by 24% over the past decade, underscoring its status as a leading global hub.
OAG’s Megahubs ranking analyzes destinations served and scheduled connections at the world’s largest airports. The 2025 list used data from the busiest day in global aviation between September 2024 and August 2025 – Friday, Aug. 1, 2025.
