PA rejects Gaza displacement plans

By : JD

Jordan Daily -The Palestinian presidency has condemned any plans to displace Palestinians from Gaza, warning they would violate “red lines” and stressing that Palestinians will not abandon their land or holy sites. It thanked Egypt, Jordan, and other supportive countries for rejecting such plans.

The presidency emphasized that it will not accept any policy that harms the territorial unity of Gaza, the West Bank, or East Jerusalem. It urged President Trump to continue efforts for a sustained ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israeli forces, with the Palestinian Authority taking control of Gaza.

It called for continued humanitarian aid, support for displaced Palestinians, and the rebuilding of essential services. The presidency affirmed that Palestinian Authority is ready to assume full responsibility in Gaza and pursue peace based on the two-state solution.

The statement warned that Israeli policies to fragment Gaza would destabilize the region and undermine Palestinian sovereignty, noting President Mahmoud Abbas is in urgent talks with Arab, European, and U.S. leaders about the potential consequences.
