Jordan Daily – A plane carrying 50 tons of humanitarian aid from the Pakistani relief organization “AlKhidmat” arrived at Queen Alia International Airport on Thursday.
This aid was handed over to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization for distribution to our people in Gaza. The assistance includes ready-to-eat canned meat, powdered milk, blankets, tents, clothing, sleeping bags, and hygiene.
“AlKhidmat” is among the first organizations to have promptly provided support to Gaza, delivering over 3,000 tons of aid, supplying ambulances, and offering 750 medical scholarships to students from Gaza. Next week, the organization plans to send an additional 50 tons of medicines via air transport to medical services, aiming to reach the field maternity hospital in Gaza. Additionally, they are working on providing prosthetic limbs and dialysis services within Gaza.
Dr. Wadah Al-Kilany, representing the organization’s branch in Jordan, noted in a statement sent to Jordan Daily that another aid plane containing medical equipment and medicines is scheduled to arrive next week, to be delivered to the Royal Medical Services.
He also noted that last year, the Pakistani relief organization “AlKhidmat” provided $25 million in aid and has allocated $55 million for this year, with the possibility of tripling this amount to offer additional support for reconstruction efforts. Furthermore, they are fully prepared to provide treatment for children in Gaza suffering from cancer.
Dr. Wadah added that “AlKhidmat” is a non-profit, non-governmental organization with branches in the United States, the United Kingdom, Norway, Japan, and Jordan, with its headquarters in Pakistan. The organization owns 50 hospitals, 52 medical clinics, and 54 pharmacies, sponsors 65,000 orphans, and funds programs supporting women, well drilling, and education.
This ongoing effort reflects “AlKhidmat’s” commitment to providing support and assistance to those in need in Gaza and strengthens the bonds of cooperation between Pakistan and Jordan in the humanitarian field.
