Petra Board cuts service fees for non-Jordanian visitors

By : staff writer

Jordan Daily – The Petra Development & Tourism Region Authority’s Board of Commissioners has decided to reduce the service fee on entry tickets to the archaeological site for non-Jordanians, in a move to boost sustainable tourism and celebrate World Heritage Day.

In a statement , the reduction, which stems from the Authority’s duty to support the tourism sector at both national and local levels, aims to encourage Jordanian tourism agencies to attract a larger number of tourists. This comes as a response to the decrease in demand for tourism, particularly in Petra.

The decision is seen as a significant step towards promoting Petra as a prime tourist destination and reviving the tourism industry, which has been hit hard by recent global events.
