Jordan Daily – Prime Minister Jafar Hassan on Monday extended his congratulations to senior Palestinian official Hussein Al-Sheikh following his appointment as Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Deputy President of the State of Palestine.
In a phone call, Hassan wished Al-Sheikh success in his new roles and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties between Jordan and Palestine, including expanding cooperation across various sectors, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.
Hassan reiterated Jordan’s firm support, under the leadership of King Abdullah II, for the Palestinian people in their pursuit of legitimate rights—foremost among them, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
