Jordan Daily – Prime Minister Jafar Hassan met with governors on Wednesday, urging them to enhance their developmental roles and maintain open communication with citizens.
During the meeting at the Ministry of Interior, attended by Interior Minister Mazen Faraya, Hassan emphasized the need for coordination with government institutions to ensure efficient service delivery and the implementation of projects.
The prime minister praised the governors for their efforts in serving citizens, upholding the rule of law, and promoting investment in their governorates. He also called for institutionalizing executive councils at the governorate level to improve coordination and integration among various bodies.
Hassan stressed the importance of field follow-up visits to evaluate the outcomes of Cabinet sessions, which began in Karak and are planned for other provinces. He also highlighted directives from King Abdullah regarding the governors’ developmental roles and the government’s initiative to hold monthly Cabinet meetings in governorates to create a clear development plan for each region.
Interior Minister Faraya outlined the ministry’s key functions, focusing on security, administration, and development. He also reviewed recent achievements, including streamlining residency procedures for investors, tourists, and those seeking medical treatment, following up on the prime minister’s talks with health unions and other authorities.
