Jordan Daily – Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan on Monday toured several development and service projects in the southern regions of Shoubak, Petra, and Wadi Musa as part of an inspection visit aimed at improving public services and supporting local investment.
During his visit to the Shoubak Agricultural School, Hassan directed the establishment of a comprehensive vocational school featuring a modern agricultural department in line with the requirements of the vocational and technical education system (BTEC).
He also inspected the Al-Abdaliyah Health Center in Shoubak District, instructing officials to carry out full maintenance work, upgrade the laboratory, and enhance the quality of services provided to citizens.
At the Petra Comprehensive Center for Inclusive Day Services, Hassan praised the quality of care and facilities available, ordering the renovation of the building, rehabilitation of its courtyards, and provision of necessary equipment to ensure sustainability and expand its services to accommodate more beneficiaries from the area.
The prime minister also visited the long-stalled Crowne Plaza Petra Hotel renovation project, emphasizing the need to complete construction and reopen the facility by early next year.
In Wadi Musa, Hassan toured the locally owned Divont Chocolate Factory, founded by a resident entrepreneur. The factory employs around 40 local youth- most of them women- and exports its products to the United States. Hassan hailed the factory as a model of successful local investment and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting and expanding similar initiatives.
