Prince El Hassan : legal empowerment key to combating multidimensional poverty

Jordan Daily – Prince El Hassan bin Talal stressed the importance of legal empowerment for the impoverished, built upon key pillars including access to justice, the rule of law, property rights, labor rights, and the right to conduct business.

Recognizing the central role of refugees and displaced populations in the poverty predicament, he called for a comprehensive understanding of their capabilities and competencies to facilitate their integration into the development process.This approach is crucial in achieving the principle of effective altruism.

Speaking at the University of Jordan in a lecture titled “Multidimensional Poverty and Human Dignity,” he emphasized the paramount importance of commencing efforts with the advancement of human dignity, empowerment, and delegation, relying on the adoption of a multidimensional deprivation index, which is already employed by several nations to ascertain aspects of destitution and poverty.

Prince El Hassan shed light on the pressing need to establish a knowledge-based framework founded on absolute truth, accurate data, and information.
