Jordan Daily – The Cybercrime Unit of Public Security Directorate (PSD) is investigating several social media accounts operated from outside the country that have published doctored images of prominent Jordanian women, the (PSD) said on Saturday.
PSD spokesperson said the accounts were aimed at defaming and insulting female public figures, in violation of “basic Jordanian values, morals, and decency.”
He added that the Cybercrime Unit is conducting technical investigations and pursuing all legal measures, both inside and outside the Kingdom, to identify those behind the accounts.
The Directorate urged the public not to share, repost, or open links associated with the accounts, warning that doing so could lead to legal consequences and potential phone breaches, as the links may contain malware.
