PSD to begin winter vehicle safety inspections next week

Jordan Daily – The Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced that it will launch the preventive campaign “Safe Winter” next Saturday to ensure vehicles are technically equipped and roadworthy during the winter season, particularly during heavy rain, in an effort to protect drivers and road users.

The campaign will focus on checking various vehicle components for safety compliance.

The Traffic Patrols Department emphasized that no immediate fines will be issued for vehicles with defects. Instead, drivers will be given a one-week grace period to address any issues, accompanied by a notice. Once the issue is fixed, drivers must visit a traffic department to have the notice removed.

However, if the defect is not corrected within the week or the driver fails to follow up with the authorities, a fine will be issued, and the vehicle will be referred to the licensing department for a technical inspection.
