Jordan Daily – Jordan’s national environmental radiation monitoring system is operating efficiently and continuously, said Ziyad Al-Saaydeh, chairman of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission.
The system includes a network of fixed stations and mobile field laboratories, supervised by specialized technical teams and operating according to international standards.
Al-Saaydeh said radiation monitoring and analysis conducted since early yesterday in targeted locations, using mobile labs and advanced equipment, showed radiation levels remain within natural background levels.
“These results are part of our daily monitoring activities under a comprehensive precautionary plan,” he said, adding that the findings were “reassuring and do not call for concern.”
The commission’s mobile radiation stations are a core part of Jordan’s national emergency response plan and allow for immediate, accurate assessments at sensitive locations.
Jordan is among the first Arab countries to link its fixed stations with the International Atomic Energy Agency’s global monitoring network (IRMIS), enabling real-time data exchange and analysis during emergencies.
“These efforts reflect the regulatory role of the commission within a transparent and efficient national monitoring system,” Al-Saaydeh said, noting the country’s commitment to public safety and institutional performance.
He said the commission continues to operate at full readiness in coordination with the National Center for Security and Crisis Management and other agencies, “to ensure the safety and protection of citizens, in line with the state’s proactive approach to emerging developments.”
