Jordan Daily – Grand Mufti, Dr. Ahmad Al-Hasanat, announced that Saturday, March 1, will be the first day of Ramadan, following confirmed moon sightings in Petra and Shoubak.
Jordanian astronomical calculations supported the visibility of the crescent moon. Several Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Oman, also declared Saturday as the start of Ramadan.
