Jordan Daily – Jordan and the Netherlands marked 75 years of diplomatic relations on Thursday with a reception hosted by Dutch Ambassador Stella Kloth in Amman, attended by Foreign Ministry Secretary-General Daifallah Al Fayez.

Diplomatic ties between the two countries were formally established on Dec. 16, 1951, through an exchange of letters between their envoys. Since then, cooperation has expanded across government, business, and people-to-people exchanges.

At the event, a commemorative logo was unveiled featuring orange, representing the Netherlands, and red for Jordan.

Ambassador Kloth highlighted the importance of collaboration and personal ties in the bilateral partnership. “Our partnership with Jordan is built on trust, shared values, and the strong connections between our people,” she said. “As we mark 75 years of diplomatic relations, we are celebrating our rich history and reaffirming our commitment to working side by side on the issues that matter to both our countries.”

The Netherlands plans to commit roughly 400 million euros over the next four years to support Jordan in areas including security, refugee reception, trade, investment, and water management.

The embassy will commemorate the milestone throughout the year, showcasing stories, people, and initiatives that define the Dutch- Jordanian partnership ahead of Dec. 16, 2026.
