Jordan Daily – Twenty-two children received high-quality hearing aids on Wednesday, thanks to the combined efforts of the Rotary Club of Zurich and the Rotary Club of Amman Cosmopolitan under the “Jordan Echoes of Hope” humanitarian project.
In a celebratory ceremony at the Regency Hotel in Amman, children from diverse backgrounds and their families were fitted with life-changing hearing devices. Smiles lit up the room as the young recipients, spanning various ages, were able to place, adjust, and experience their new hearing aids for the first time.
Ruba Albanna, President of Rotary Amman Cosmopolitan, emphasized in a statement the project’s alignment with Rotary’s mission: “At Rotary, we are committed to community service and sustainable initiatives that improve living conditions. This hearing aid distribution highlights our dedication to empowering children with hearing disabilities so they can fully participate in society.”
Albanna extended heartfelt thanks to the donors and team members, acknowledging the contributions of Daoud Kuttab and Mai Omeish for their professionalism in completing the project.
Rotary Zurich’s International President Johannes Zetterblim said he is proud of the “Jordan Echoes of Hope” project.
Ibrahim Oudeh, Jordanian General Manager of the Swiss CEDEM AG, highlighted the support of CEDEM’s Chairwoman, Rasha Oudeh, whose financial contribution, combined with that of Rotary Zurich, made the initiative possible, underscoring the project’s importance. He noted that this “reflects the company’s vision for social responsibility.”
Specialized technicians from HearingTech, who had conducted hearing assessments, were present to ensure that each child received a device tailored to their needs, while also training families on proper use and care.
