Russia to grant 1,500 scholarships to Jordanian students, Lavrov says

Jordan Daily – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday that Moscow will grant 1,500 scholarships to Jordanian students, as the two countries seek to expand cooperation in trade and economic sectors.

Lavrov, speaking at a press conference in Moscow alongside Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, said Russia was keen to strengthen ties with Jordan, stressing the importance of boosting bilateral relations.

He noted that the Russian-Jordanian Joint Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation plays a key role in enhancing commercial ties.

The commission’s next session, its seventh, will be held in Moscow before the end of this year, co-chaired by Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Al-Qudah and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev, Lavrov added.
