Jordan Daily – The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) announced agreements with low-cost carriers Ryanair and Wizz Air to launch direct flights to Jordan, enhancing air connectivity with Europe and supporting the kingdom’s tourism recovery.
JTB Managing Director Dr. Abdulrazzaq Arabiyat said the flights will begin in April, with Ryanair operating 27 weekly flights across 14 European routes to Amman, including cities like Milan, Paris, Madrid, and Rome. The airline is expected to bring 125,000 passengers during the summer season, from April to October.
Wizz Air will offer six direct routes to Amman from London, Abu Dhabi, Budapest, and other cities, as well as three routes to Aqaba. It is projected to bring 145,000 passengers annually, with potential expansion to Aqaba later this year.
Arabiyat emphasized that these agreements will boost Jordan’s ability to attract more European tourists, marking a significant development in the country’s tourism and aviation sectors. He highlighted the positive impact on the economy, including increased tourist arrivals, hotel occupancy, and revitalization of local services.
JTB continues to implement advanced marketing strategies targeting European and global markets, aiming to strengthen Jordan’s position as a key regional tourism hub.
Arabiyat concluded by reiterating JTB’s commitment to expanding direct flight networks and increasing tourist numbers.
