Jordan Daily – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, received a phone call on Friday from U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, focusing on efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and the introduction of sufficient aid to the sector, including through Jordan.

Safadi confirmed that Jordan is capable of sending hundreds of trucks to Gaza daily as soon as the northern crossings are opened and the United Nations and its organizations are enabled to receive and distribute aid.

Safadi stressed the necessity of opening all crossings to introduce aid to face the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the war and the obstacles to delivering and distributing aid in Gaza.

Safadi also emphasized the need to stop the aggression on Gaza and warned of the catastrophic consequences of Israel launching a ground attack on Rafah.

Safadi and Blinken affirmed the priority of removing all obstacles to the introduction of aid in a sufficient and immediate manner to Gaza.

The two ministers discussed regional developments and efforts to de-escalate in the region.
