Jordan Daily – Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said on Saturday that Israel is committing war crimes in Gaza, and urged the international community to stop its aggression and hold it accountable.
Safadi, speaking at a joint press conference with his Slovenian and Portuguese counterparts, Tanja Fajon and Joao Cravinho, said 2023 is the bloodiest year for Palestinians in over a decade.
He said Israel is attacking anyone who disagreed with its policy or demanded a ceasefire in Gaza, and that it has boycotted a Union for the Mediterranean meeting in Barcelona on Sunday.
“Israel cannot remain above the law and the international community must pay attention to the ongoing Israeli escalation against the Palestinians,” Safadi said.
He warned that displacing the people of Gaza would not be a solution, but would aggravate the situation.
Fajon and Cravinho expressed their concern over the developments in the West Bank and Gaza, and said they rejected the forced displacement of the population.
They also stressed the importance of achieving the two-state solution and allowing humanitarian and relief aid to enter Gaza.
They said they supported a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and that the West Bank and Gaza are one geographical unit.
