Jordan Dailly – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ayman Safadi is set to hold talks in Amman today with British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly.
Cleverly’s ongoing three-day tour of Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan seeks to reinforce the growing partnership between the United Kingdom and the region while fostering mutually beneficial connections.
During his visit to Jordan, Cleverly will unveil a substantial aid package of approximately £ 1.5 million to bolster initiatives aimed at empowering women and girls. Civil society organizations are set to be the primary beneficiaries of this funding, aiming to drive positive change and development in the region.
In a commitment to support the most vulnerable refugees, the Foreign Secretary will also meet with representatives from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the World Food Programme. During these meetings, Cleverly is expected to announce a significant funding allocation of £30 million over three years, dedicated to providing essential cash assistance and support to refugees in dire need.
