Jordan Daily – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, held discussions with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov regarding regional and international efforts to halt the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
During a phone call, both ministers emphasized the urgent need for an immediate and lasting ceasefire to end the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. The discussions also addressed the consequences of continued aggression, including the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, as well as the attacks on Lebanon.
The ministers underscored the critical steps required to prevent the region from spiraling into a full-scale regional war.
Safadi expressed appreciation for Russia’s clear stance in rejecting the aggression on Gaza and its support for the Palestinian people’s right to freedom and an independent sovereign state based on the two-state solution.
In addition to these pressing issues, Safadi and Lavrov also reviewed other regional and international matters, as well as the bilateral relations between Jordan and Russia.
