Jordan Daily -The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) agreed on Tuesday to provide 500 residential caravans for Syrian refugees in the Zaatari camp, the organization said in a statement.
The project, funded by the Saudi center, aims to replace old and unusable caravans and accommodate the growing number of refugees in the camp, which suffers from a shortage of housing units.
Hussein Al-Shibli, the secretary-general of JHCO, said the project would also help the refugees cope with the harsh weather conditions and improve their living standards.
Nayef bin Saleh Al-Shammari, the director of the Saudi center’s branch in Jordan, said the project is part of a series of initiatives to support the Syrian refugees in Jordan, who number more than 650,000 according to the UNHCR.
