Seven lives lost in Jordan’s deadly 24 hours

Jordan Daily – Jordan experienced a wave of violent incidents on Wednesday, leaving seven people dead in various parts of the country and sparking widespread public concern.

In a tragic 24-hour period, the kingdom witnessed multiple deaths due to shootings, a traffic accident, and drowning. The most significant incident occurred in the town of Deir Al-Sa’neh in Irbid Governorate, where a family dispute escalated into a deadly confrontation involving gunfire. The clash resulted in the deaths of two brother – one who succumbed to his injuries later in the evening, following the death of his sibling earlier in the day.

Authorities imposed a security cordon around the area to prevent further escalation.

In a separate incident, a first lieutenant in the Traffic Department was fatally struck by a vehicle while on duty in Tabarbour, north of Amman. The driver responsible for the fatality was apprehended, and the officer’s body was transported to Al-Hussein Medical City.

Additionally, a 13-year-old girl drowned while with her family at a private farm in Zarqa’s Sarut area. Her body was taken to the forensic department to determine the cause of death, and an investigation is underway.

In another tragic event in Zarqa, a two-year-old girl died after being hit by a car in the Sukhnah area. The driver was detained, and an investigation into the incident has been launched.

The final incident of the night occurred in Karak, where a young man in his twenties was fatally shot inside his home. His body was transferred to Karak Hospital, and security forces have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
