Jordan Daily – Muhannad Al-Mubaidin , the government spokesman said on Saturday that the border guards arrested 15 smugglers on the border with Syria , adding they would provide valuable information for the security and judicial authorities.
Al-Mubaidin, who is also the minister of communication, told Jordan TV that the prolonged clashes between the border guards and the armed smugglers posed a threat to national security.
He blamed the lack of security in the Syrian areas where the smugglers came from for the increase in smuggling activity recently.
