Jordan Daily – The Israeli leaders use twisted religious texts to justify their attacks on Gaza that kill and injure women and children, speakers at a seminar said on Saturday.
The seminar, held by the Sarih Association for Thought and Culture in Irbid , discussed the role of religion in the conflict over the Gaza Strip.
Former public security mufti Muhammad Khair Al-Issa said the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials invoked religious symbols and rhetoric to legitimize their aggression. He cited Netanyahu’s naming of the anti-missile system as “David’s Sling” as an example.
Sultan Al-Shayab, another speaker at the seminar, said the Israeli occupation distorted religion to serve its criminal goals and committed unprecedented crimes and destruction in Gaza.
