Syria, Israel making progress in security talks, President Sharaa says

Jordan Daily – Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa said on Sunday that Syrian and Israeli delegations are making progress in negotiations on a bilateral security agreement.

Sharaa told reporters there was movement towards bilateral accords, adding that he “will not hesitate to take any agreement or decision that serves the country’s interest.”

He said the talks under discussion are based on a return to the disengagement line between Israeli and Syrian forces in the occupied Golan Heights, established in 1974.

Sharaa also underlined the importance of economic integration among Middle Eastern states, saying he would not hesitate to accept any decision or agreement that benefits Syria and the wider region.
