Syrian embassy in Amman issues 30,000 passports after Assad’s fall

Jordan Daily – The Syrian Embassy in Amman has issued around 30,000 passports since the fall of President Bashar Al-Assad, according to chargé d’affaires Ihsan al-Rumman.

He said the embassy was the first to offer free passport renewals after the new Syrian administration took over, easing procedures for Syrians in Jordan.

Al-Rumman added that 400 travel permits had been issued for Syrians wishing to return home. The embassy is working with Jordan and Syria’s new leadership on plans to help refugees return from camps.
