Jordan Daily – Syria’s newly appointed Foreign Minister, Asaad Hassan Al-Shibani, on Tuesday warned Iran against sowing chaos in the country, stressing the need for respect for Syria’s sovereignty and the will of its people.

In a post on X , Al-Shibani stated, “Iran must respect the will of the Syrian people, the sovereignty of the country, and its security. We warn them against causing disorder in Syria and hold them responsible for the consequences of recent statements.”

Al-Shibani did not specify which statements he was referring to.

On Sunday, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a televised speech, called on Syrian youth to “stand strong and resolutely against those who orchestrated and executed this security breakdown.”

Khamenei further added, “We expect the events in Syria to give rise to a group of noble and strong individuals, as the Syrian youth have nothing left to lose – their schools, universities, homes, and streets are unsafe.”
