Jordan Daily – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported late Wednesday night that intense explosions were heard in the Damascus countryside, attributed to Israeli airstrikes targeting locations around the Sayyida Zainab area.
According to the Observatory’s website, plumes of smoke were seen rising from the targeted sites. As of now, there have been no reports of casualties resulting from the Israeli strikes.
Simultaneously, Syrian air defense units launched missiles in an attempt to intercept the incoming targets in the region’s airspace, the observatory noted.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, founded in May 2006, is a United Kingdom-based information office whose stated aim is to document human rights abuses in Syria.
