This Winter, choose Slovakia for your ski adventure

Slovak ski resorts provide excellent conditions for beginners and experienced skiers alike, with perfectly groomed pistes, modern lift systems and high-quality services. Visitors can choose from large resorts with extensive ski areas or smaller, family-friendly ski centres.

Thanks to recent frosty weather and fresh snowfall, winter conditions across Slovakia are currently excellent, with snow depths reaching up to 70 centimetres in some regions. Dozens of ski resorts are fully operational nationwide. This winter, Slovakia is experiencing one of it´s strongest ski seasons in recent years, thanks to excellent snow contitions and continued investments in modern ski infrastructure.

“We are experiencing very favourable snow conditions in Slovak mountain regions, creating ideal opportunities for winter sports and recreation. Resorts are ready to welcome domestic and international visitors with safe, well-prepared slopes suitable for all skill levels,” says Matej Fekete, Director General of the national tourism promotion organisation SLOVAKIA TRAVEL.

Slovakia is also an increasingly popular choice for visitors from outside Europe, offering high-quality skiing.

From western Slovakia to the High Tatras and eastern regions, skiers can enjoy a wide range of destinations. Central Slovakia and Liptov are home to top resorts such as Donovaly and Jasná, Slovakia’s largest ski area with over 50 kilometres of slopes and the longest illuminated run for night skiing in Central Europe outside the Alps. The High Tatras offer more than 20 kilometres of pistes, including the iconic slopes of Tatranská Lomnica and Štrbské Pleso, now featuring a new modern 8-seater chairlift.

Northern regions such as Malá Fatra, Orava, and Kysuce, as well as eastern resorts near Košice, provide excellent skiing in stunning natural surroundings. Family-friendly centres, night skiing, and a wide range of winter activities make Slovakia an attractive destination for winter holidays.
