Jordan Daily – Minister of Transport Wissam Al-Tahtamouni and Chilean Ambassador to Jordan Jorge Tagle Canelo discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in various transport sectors between the two countries on Tuesday.
During the meeting at the ministry, the minister highlighted the strong ties between Jordan and Chile and emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation to serve their mutual interests.
Tahtamouni and Canelo reviewed a draft memorandum of understanding aimed at mutual recognition of original maritime certificates and boosting maritime cooperation between the two countries. The minister underscored the significance of this memorandum in enhancing economic and maritime relations.
Ambassador Canelo affirmed the deep bilateral relations between Jordan and Chile and mentioned that Chile’s Minister of Transport plans to visit Jordan to explore cooperation in the transport sector and learn more about the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.
The meeting also addressed the possibility of establishing direct flight routes between companies in both countries to serve the large Arab community in Chile and strengthen ties between the two countries.
