Jordan Daily – In a significant step towards enhancing digital collaboration, True Matters Jordan met with Cyber Wales on Tuesday at the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX) in Aqaba. The meeting aimed to strengthen the Jordan-UK partnership in the realm of digital solidarity and cybersecurity.

Building on a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Cyber Wales and True Matters Jordan, the partnership seeks to commemorate the 28th anniversary of SOFEX by advancing key initiatives in cybersecurity.

Brigadier General (Ret.) Sahm AlJamal, CTO and Co-Founder of True Matters, expressed confidence in the growing collaboration. He emphasized the potential for developing a cyber cluster, a Cyber Skills Growth Working Group, Cyber Accelerator Initiatives, and a Cyber Incubation Centre in Jordan.

In a statement sent to the Jordan Daily , the partnership is poised to play a crucial role in fostering a digital economy in Jordan, with a focus on investing in cyber skills and enhancing cyber trade relations with the UK.

Marc Del-Valle, a member of Cyber Wales’ Board of Advisors, highlighted Jordan’s emerging leadership in cybersecurity. He noted that the development of a Cyber Centre for Excellence, in collaboration with international partners like Cyber Wales, will be pivotal in ensuring online security in the country.

Del-Valle stressed the importance of international cooperation in addressing the growing threats in the digital space. “It is not possible for any country to tackle cybersecurity challenges alone,” he said, emphasizing the need for collective action and the implementation of best practices.

Mohammad Waddah, CEO of True Matters, echoed this sentiment, stating, “Cyber trade and investment between Jordan and the United Kingdom are set to advance significantly. In a digitally connected world, it is impossible for any single country to face ever-increasing cyber threats alone. We look forward to working closely with UK cyber companies, our long-standing trade and development partner, to create a collective cybersecurity ecosystem in collaboration with Cyber Wales.”

John Davies MBE, Co-Founder and Chairman of Cyber Wales, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, recognizing Jordan’s strong talent pool in ICT and telecommunications. “Cyber Wales is proud to contribute to enhancing cyber capabilities in a nation with which we have a long-standing relationship. Welsh cyber companies, supported by our universities, are at the forefront of many UK national cyber programs, and we are eager to share best practices and collaborate on various projects,” said Davies.

Eng. Faheem Azhar, International Strategic Advisor for Cyber Wales, underscored the growing relationship between the two organizations. He also acknowledged the visit of the President of the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) Jordan to SOFEX, where they discussed opportunities for collaboration across business, academia, law enforcement, and defense sectors.

Azhar revealed plans for a return visit to Jordan later this year, further solidifying the partnership. He concluded by expressing gratitude to the President of NCSC Jordan for their visit, which he sees as a significant step forward in the ongoing collaboration between True Matters Jordan and Cyber Wales.
