Trump nominates six U.S. ambassadors, including envoy to Jordan

Jordan Daily – President Donald Trump has sent six ambassadorial nominations to the Senate for confirmation, the White House said on Tuesday.

James Holtsnider, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, was nominated as U.S. ambassador to Jordan.

Trump also put forward Tammy Bruce to serve as deputy U.S. representative to the United Nations with the rank of ambassador. Bruce, 63, has been the State Department spokesperson since January 2025. If confirmed, she would represent Washington on the U.N. Security Council and at sessions of the General Assembly.

Sergio Gor, director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office, was nominated as ambassador to India.

Brent Christensen, under secretary for arms control and international security and a career diplomat, was tapped to become ambassador to Bangladesh.

Stephanie Hallett, a career diplomat was nominated as ambassador to Bahrain.

William Long of Missouri was nominated as ambassador to Iceland.
