Jordan Daily – Türkiye marked the first anniversary of the February 6, 2023 earthquake on Tuesday, the deadliest in its modern history, which killed more than 53,000 people in the southeast.
The quake, which lasted 65 seconds, flattened thousands of buildings and trapped residents under mounds of concrete.
The Turkish ambassador to Jordan Erdem Ozan thanked the kingdom for its solidarity and support during the crisis, in a post on platform x , saying: “On the anniversary of the earthquakes in #Türkiye, our hearts are with those affected. We reiterate our gratitude for Hashemite Kingdom of #Jordan’s unwavering support during challenging times. Solidarity makes us stronger and closer.
