Jordan Daily – The University of Petra has achieved a new milestone by advancing in the QS Arab Region University Rankings 2025, securing the 124th position among Arab universities- several places higher than its 2024 ranking.
University President Professor Rami Abdel Rahem received the official ranking certificate during the QS Arab Forum, hosted by Sultan Qaboos University in Oman. The event was held under the patronage of Oman’s Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Professor Rahma Al-Mahrouqi, and attended by regional higher education leaders and ranking experts.
The QS World University Rankings, issued annually by the UK-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), are among the most recognized global university ranking systems. They assess institutions based on several criteria, including academic reputation, employer reputation, research quality, and academic impact.
The University of Petra also earned a five-star rating in the QS evaluation and was listed within the global QS ranking band of 1201–1400.
The University said the recognition reflects Petra’s ongoing efforts to enhance academic and research performance, aligning with international standards and reinforcing the university’s commitment to excellence in higher education.
