University of Petra signs MoUs with Arab universities to boost academic cooperation

Jordan Daily – University of Petra expanded its regional partnerships by signing memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with three prominent Arab universities, during the 57th General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities, held at the International University of Kuwait.

University President Professor Rami Abdel Rahem signed an MoU with the International University of Kuwait, focusing on academic exchange programs and joint research projects addressing development priorities across the Arab world.

Abdel Rahem said the agreement reflects Petra University’s commitment to building strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing the quality of higher education. He also praised the International University’s efforts in hosting the conference and fostering an environment conducive to academic collaboration.

Additionally, the University of Petra  signed two separate MoUs with Jinan University and the Islamic University in Lebanon, targeting academic exchange initiatives, research collaboration, and the transfer of expertise between Arab higher education institutions.

The Association’s General Conference drew extensive participation from university presidents and representatives of scientific and research organizations. Discussions focused on strengthening regional integration, advancing digital transformation, and promoting innovation in Arab higher education, in a bid to bolster the global standing of Arab universities.
