University of Petra wins gold at Emirates Energy Award 2025

Jordan Daily – The University of Petra has earned first place and the gold level at the Emirates Energy Award 2025, recognizing its outstanding commitment to environmental excellence and sustainable practices.

The award was presented during the 11th World Green Economy Summit in Dubai, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the University said in a statement received by Jordan Daily.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, presented the award to Professor Rami Abdel Rahem, President of the University of Petra, and Dr. Nidal Hussein, Assistant Director of the Quality Assurance and Planning Unit.

The Emirates Energy Award is an international platform recognizing innovation and excellence in energy management and conservation. The 2025 edition saw participation from 240 institutions across 24 countries, including Jordan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United States, and several European and Asian nations.
