Jordan Daily – US Central Command chief Brad Cooper reaffirmed Washington’s “ironclad commitment” to Israel’s security during his first visit since taking office on Aug. 8, CENTCOM said on Saturday.
Cooper met Israeli Army Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir to discuss regional security and military cooperation. Israel’s Maariv daily reported the talks also covered Iran and Yemen’s Houthis, following Israeli strikes in Sanaa that killed senior Houthi officials.
The visit comes after Israel’s June 13 attack on Iran and subsequent US-Iran strikes, which ended under a US-brokered ceasefire on June 24.
