Jordan Daily – Sales of electrical appliances during Jordan’s “White Friday” sales have been underwhelming, falling short of expectations, according to the Vice President of the Electrical Appliances Association, Fawaz Qattan.
Qattan said in press remarks sales during the promotional period, which began earlier this month, have not reached 50% of forecasts.
Qattan attributed the weak purchasing power to several factors, most notably the lack of cash among consumers and the challenging economic conditions in the country. He noted that many Jordanians are opting to repair their appliances instead of purchasing new ones due to financial constraints.
In contrast, Sultan Allan,Garment Traders Association President , said hat sales in the clothing sector have varied, ranging from “good to very good.” Allan indicated that retailers may extend their White Friday promotions into next month.
