Jordan Daily – The World Health Organization (WHO) welcomed the Gaza ceasefire and the hostage-prisoner release deal, offering hope to millions affected by the conflict.
WHO warned in a statement that the health challenges in Gaza are immense, with over 46,600 killed and 110,000 injured. Only half of Gaza’s 36 hospitals remain partially operational, and 25% of those injured will require ongoing rehabilitation.
WHO is scaling up efforts, alongside UN health partners, to restore the health system, address malnutrition, disease outbreaks, and strengthen medical evacuation and trauma care services.
WHO urged all parties to uphold the ceasefire and work towards a lasting political solution.
