With election day approaching, key sectors see uptick in Jordan

Jordan Daily – As parliamentary elections draw near, the local market is witnessing a noticeable surge in three key sectors: hospitality services, advertising, and food and confectionery.

With just two weeks remaining before the elections, industry insiders anticipate even greater demand in the final days leading up to the vote.

Despite the increased commercial activity linked to the election season, business leaders note that the current level of engagement remains below that of previous election cycles.

The elections for Jordan’s 20th Parliament are scheduled for September 10, with campaigning having officially begun on August 5.

Ahmed Al-Manaseer, an investor in the hospitality sector, observed a significant spike in demand, with bookings and services rising by over 85 percent compared to typical summer activity, traditionally a peak period for the industry.

However, Al-Manaseer pointed out that demand during this election season has not reached the levels seen in previous years, attributing this to a delay in the opening of election centers for candidates , which in past campaigns had been established earlier.
