Wizz Air resumes flights to Jordan with expanded winter 2025/26 schedule

Jordan Daily – Hungary’s low-cost carrier has resumed operations to Jordan, landing at Queen Alia International Airport on Saturday with 184 passengers from Budapest, marking the airline’s return with two weekly flights on the route.
Tourism and Antiquities Minister Emad Hijazeen said the return of budget airlines such as is a “strategic step to enhance the Kingdom’s competitiveness on the global tourism map” and would help attract more European visitors at affordable fares. “This will positively reflect on various economic sectors,” he added in a statement received by Jordan Daily.
Hijazeen said the resumption “reflects Jordan’s position as a promising tourism destination in the region and expands travel options for passengers to and from the Kingdom.”
Jordan Tourism Board Managing Director Abdulrazzaq Arabiyat said the board is intensifying promotional and marketing efforts to capitalize on the move. “We are working to increase the number of tourists and distribute the benefits of tourism across various sites in the Kingdom,” he said.
Arabiyat added that the restart is part of ’s winter 2025/26 plan, which will expand its Amman network from Nov. 1 through March 31, 2026. The carrier will operate three weekly flights from London, two from Vienna, and two from Milan, in addition to maintaining the Budapest service at two flights per week.
